CAMP HILL - Messiah College has named McKonly & Asbury partner, Scott Heintzelman to the College's Board of Trustees for a term commencing in October of 2006. Mr. Heintzelman is a 1989 graduate of Messiah's accounting program, which was ranked 7 th in the nation among all colleges and universities in 2005 for passage of the CPA examination by graduates. Scott has served in a variety of volunteer capacities for the College, including chairing the steering committee for Messiah's Larsen Student Union building, dedicated in 2004. In 2004 Scott and Gaye Heintzelman endowed a scholarship for students pursuing a bachelor's degree in accounting at Messiah College. “The Board unanimously endorsed Scott's appointment to the Board of Trustees,” said Kim Phipps, Messiah College's President. “Scott brings valuable expertise to our board and a high level of commitment to Messiah and the mission and identity of the College.” “I want to give back because of all that the Messiah College community did to help me develop into the person that I am, spiritually, socially, emotionally, and intellectually. I am truly humbled by the College's appointment to the Board of Trustees and look forward to this opportunity to lead through service to the College, its faculty, staff, alumni and students,” said Heintzelman. Scott Heintzelman joined McKonly & Asbury as a staff accountant in 1989 following his graduation from Messiah College . He advanced rapidly in his career as an accountant and business advisor, being named a partner in 1998. Mr. Heintzelman serves as director of the Consulting Team. He serves clients in a variety of industries with a specialization in providing business advisory services to the Middle Market. He leads our consulting team in providing services to some of the region's largest corporations. Mr. Heintzelman, a CPA is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), a certification that provides him with the management expertise to consult with business clients on operations, internal controls, and benchmarking. He also leads our engagements to assist companies with Sarbanes-Oxley Act implementation. Mr. Heintzelman is a Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), and leads the firm's forensic accounting and fraud prevention team. He is a frequent guest lecturer on the subjects of performance measurement, wealth transfer, fraud prevention, and internal controls. Mr. Heintzelman is a graduate of Leadership Harrisburg, a 2001 recipient of the Central Pennsylvania Business Journal's “Forty under 40” award, and is an active member of his church. He also serves on the Harrisburg Regional Chamber of Commerce Military Liaison Committee and is a member of the Susquehanna Area Regional Airport Authority Advisory Committee.
